Sophia Fenske is the serving Drum Major and Conductor for the UMD Athletic Bands. Starting as a chance to travel with friends, Fenske’s love for music grew throughout her life and became a major part in her choice for colleges. Follow along as Fenske recounts her appreciation for music, the defunding of the UMD Marching Band and the trials that the band faced as they fought to keep their organization alive.
