Search for Jacob Lavoie continues

The Duluth Police Department is continuing their investigation into the disappearance of 21 year old UMD student, Jacob Michael Lavoie, who disappeared from Grandma’s Sports Garden in Canal Park on Saturday, Aug. 31 around midnight and early in the morning on Sept. 1 heading north towards downtown Duluth.

According to authorities, organized searches by police, with the assistance of the St. Louis County Rescue Squad and Duluth Fire Department have taken place. Authorities are not in need of any volunteers at this time.

Police are asking business and home owners to search for Lavoie on their properties in the highlighted areas of the image provided. This includes abandoned buildings, vehicles, stairwells, outbuildings, dumpsters, boats or anywhere a person could hide.

Lavoie is described as a white male, who is 5’10” with strawberry blonde hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a black Nike baseball hat, a red or salmon-colored long sleeve shirt and jeans.

Authorities stated that if anyone has information about Lavoie’s whereabouts, they are encouraged to contact the Duluth Police Department Juvenile Services Unit at (218) 730-5560, or if you know of his immediate whereabouts call 911.
