The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) announced schedules for both men’s and women’s basketball in a press release Friday afternoon.

On Jan. 2, NSIC member-schools will begin a 16-game schedule played over eight weeks. Teams will only play opponents in the same division of the NSIC, with the exception of the first week.

In an effort to mitigate concerns regarding the coronavirus pandemic, member-schools will only play two games per week, both of which will be against the same team. All athletic training and competition are to adhere to the National Collegiate Athletic Association’s (NCAA) Sports Science Institute (SSI) guidelines.

Both men’s and women’s basketball will open their seasons at home on Jan. 2 in out-of-division play against Winona State.

The women are coming off a division and conference title last year, while the men return from a third place conference finish.

The Conference plans to only crown a champion from each division.

The Bulldogs belong to the NSIC North division, consisting of teams from Minnesota, North Dakota, and northern South Dakota. The South division consists of teams from Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska and southern South Dakota.

Schedules for both teams can be found here, while the Conference’s full press release can be read here.

This is a developing story.
