The Bark is the student-run news organization at UMD. We are operated completely by UMD students and publish content online to an audience of 8,000 students covering the people and activities of UMD, reporting on student life, breaking news, sports, and more.

All students have the right to free speech and are protected by the First Amendment of the US Constitution, as are all public university student newspapers.

The Bark is a digital first news outlet, with news posted daily online at thebarkumd.com, on instagram @thebarkumd and in a weekly email newsletter you can sign up for right here. The Bark also publishes a print magazine distributed on campus each month.
