Valentine’s Day is known as the day of romance. Whether or not you are in a romantic relationship, Valentine’s Day promotes spending time with those you love and care about.

Here are 5 events in Duluth that would make a great Valentine’s themed date night with a significant other, group of friends or on your own.

1. Galentine’s Day Pick Your Project event

Details: Board & Brush is hosting a Galentine’s Day wood sign making event. The workshop leaders show the group step by step how to create a beautiful piece of art of your choice.

2.  HALEY Valentine’s Show

Where: Glensheen Mansion

When: Friday, Feb. 15 from 7-10 p.m.

Details: Singer and songwriter HALEY is going to be in Duluth for her annual Valentine's show at the Glensheen Mansion. Complimentary drinks and food will be provided. According to the events facebook page, all proceeds benefit the MN Music Coalition which is “the only statewide nonprofit supporting musicians of all ages, genres and backgrounds”.

3.  Laura Velvet and the Bookhouse Boys Valentine Show

Cost: Tickets are free with the purchase of dinner at Silos or $10 at the door

Details: Twin Ports based group Laura Velvet and the Bookhouse Boys will be playing at Pier B Resort in Canal Park on Valentine’s Day. Reservations for dinner are required. Call 218-336-3430 to reserve a table.

4. Love’s Labors Lost

Where: Marshall Performing Arts Center- Mainstage Theatre

When: Feb. 7-9 & 13-16 at 7:30 p.m.

Feb. 10 at 2:00 p.m.

Cost: $21 for adults

$16 for seniors, UMD faculty/staff and veterans

Details: UMD Theatre presents Love’s Labors Lost by William Shakespeare. “Promise declared amongst young friends with the best of intentions, until hormones take over and attraction rules. It's a battle of the sexes: 'boys meet girls = love', but always with the Shakespearean twist”. Approximate run time for the production is 94 minutes.

5. Best Date Ever- Valentine’s Day adventure at the Duluth Zoo

Where: Lake Superior Zoo
