Quarantine-O-Ween: How to celebrate Halloween in the middle of a pandemic
While ghosts, goblins and gremlins are spooky sights to behold on a typical Halloween night, something scarier will haunt the streets of Duluth this year — the coronavirus.
Like countless other events and holidays that have seen changes due to the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, everyone’s favorite frightening holiday won’t look quite the same this year. Nevertheless, there’s still lots of great ways that Bulldogs can have fun while staying safe this Halloween. See our recommendations below:
The CDC recommends avoiding traditional activities such as trick-or-treating, costume parties, haunted houses, hayrides or fall festivals, where close contact with other people is hard to avoid. A safer way to celebrate Halloween would be at home with those you live with or socially distanced in a small group.
Here’s a list of fun activities you could try with your roommate or in a socially distanced group:
Pumpkin painting/carving
Outdoor costume party
Outdoor Halloween movie night
Drive-through haunted house
Virtual costume contest
Scavenger hunt trick-or-treating
