COMM Club, Career Center To Host LinkedIn Workshop On April 2
The COMM Club and Career Center are holding their second annual LinkedIn Workshop on Wednesday, April 2, from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. in Kirby Ballroom. Students will be able to get headshots, network with others and learn ways to improve profiles.
“LinkedIn is super important not only to find a job, but to connect with others in your major,” said COMM Club President Amber Thomas. “It can really be applicable to any major. It really is a tool to help market yourself better.”
LinkedIn is a social networking site used to seek employment and showcase career accomplishments. Presentations to learn how to build and polish profiles start at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Laptops are encouraged.
“You'll be able to learn what's inside, why your LinkedIn is important, what you can do to make it better,” Thomas said.
The Career Center will also hold one-on-one sessions. Students getting headshots are encouraged to dress business casual.
“We want people to walk out of there feeling like they know more about LinkedIn and feel more confident in themselves,” Thomas said.
