Police conducted a search of Duluth’s Lake Walk, extending from Canal Park to Leif Erickson Park, both on land and in water Tuesday evening in search for missing UMD student Jacob Michael Lavoie.

Lavoie was last seen at Grandma’s Sports Garden in Canal Park on Saturday, Aug. 31st, 2019 around midnight and early in the morning on Sept. 1st.

Authorities could not supply The Bark with any further information at this time but according to a report by CBS 3 Duluth, officials said that the search of the Lake Walk occurred because Lavoie went missing from Canal Park. Police did not receive any tips.

Lavoie is described as a white male, who is 5’10” with strawberry blonde hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a black Nike baseball hat, a red or salmon-colored long sleeve shirt and jeans.

Authorities stated that if anyone has information about Lavoie’s whereabouts, they are encouraged to contact the Duluth Police Department Juvenile Services Unit at (218) 730-5560, or if you know of his immediate whereabouts call 911.

This is a developing story.
