Kuhlman signs with Bruins

Hard to think senior captain Karson Kuhlman’s last five days couldn’t get any better. After winning the 2018 National Collegiate Athletic Association Frozen Four national title and being named the tournament’s Most Outstanding player in his final collegiate appearance, the four-year Bulldog vet signed a two-year entry level contract with the Boston Bruins yesterday afternoon. Kuhlman will join the Providence Bruins on an Amateur Tryout Agreement for the remainder of the 2017-18 season.

In his tenure at UMD, Kuhlman skated in 166 consecutive games which is college hockey’s current ironman record and ties a program record (set by former Bulldog and Hobey Baker winner, Jack Connolly). The Esko, Minnesota Native accumulated 80 points (39G, 41 A) and was a career +41 with the Bulldogs. Kuhlman netted power play goals in each of his four seasons totaling nine and was a force on the penalty kill scoring two of his four shorthanded tallies in his senior campaign.
