UMD-TV for Campus Residents
UMD provides a wide variety of cable TV channels at no additional cost for students living on campus. Hooking up a TV to the cable port in a dorm gives residents access to approximately 90 channels. The TV must then be programmed to search for cable channels instead of air or antenna channels. The UMD Housing Channel Lineup lists ESPN2 in high definition on channel 49.2. For help setting up cable access, call the Housing Information Desk at 218-726-7381.
To watch on a computer, access UMD-TV here, select University of Minnesota Duluth, log in with your MyU credentials and find ESPN2 for Thursday’s games, or ESPN for Saturday’s game.
Subscription at Home
If a student or their parents have access to ESPN and ESPN2 through their cable provider, but are away from home, they aren’t out of luck. With a valid subscription anywhere in the country, navigating to the ESPN Watch website will allow someone to log into their TV provider and watch content online at no additional charge.
YouTube TV Free Trial
Consoles, computers, tablets and other devices mostly have access to YouTube TV either online or through an application. Currently, anyone can sign up for a two-week free trial of YouTube TV, which carries ESPN and ESPN2. By signing up for the trial, you have immediate access to over 85 channels. The trial period lasts long enough to watch both Frozen Four semifinal games and the championship. A payment form is required to sign up for the trial, and users will be charged $64.99 per month after the trial period ends, so remember to cancel the trial.
Radio Coverage
Those within radio range of Duluth can tune their radios to AM 610 or FM 103.9 where KDAL will be calling the game live.
Live Stats
Don’t have access to any of the above options? While it may not be the same as watching the game live, the NCAA publishes live stats as the game progresses.
