Opinion: Just say NO

Representative Pete Stauber sure knows how to vote NO.

In the last 6 years Pete has been in Congress, he has consistently voted NO on legislation most Minnesotans care deeply about. 

If you are concerned about affordable healthcare, Pete does not share your concerns.

 The Republican-sponsored Lower Cost, More Transparency Act (HR 5378) would lower the cost of healthcare and save billions of dollars. HR 5378 passed the US House with Republican support. Pete Stauber voted against it.

 The Affordable Insulin Now Act (HR 6833) caps the outrageous cost of insulin. Pete voted NO.

 He voted NO to protecting Americans with preexisting health conditions (HR 986).

If you are a senior, take note that Pete Stauber is on the Republican Study Committee that published a report in 2024 to CUT Social Security and Medicare.

Pete voted NO on many other issues as well. The Fuel Price Gouging Prevention Act (HR 7688) would protect consumers from international oil companies artificially inflating gas prices. Pete voted against it.

Pete has voted no to Honoring Our Pact Act (HR3967). It expands healthcare to Vets who were exposed to burn pits and other toxins during military service.

When Pete votes yes, it is equally disastrous for Minnesotans. 

He supported HR 5894 that CUTS funding for Head Start programs.

Lucy Grina is a recent student of University for Seniors at UMD. She attended the UMN College of Veterinary Medicine and currently works as a relief veterinarian advocating for climate solutions to create a liveable planet with a group called Citizens Climate Lobby. 

On Nov. 15, 2023, Stauber sponsored an amendment to HR 5894.  This would have cut $6 million from schools in our district had it passed.  Fortunately, most House GOP and Democrats rejected his amendment. 

Pete has not respected the concerns of his constituents and actively voted against them.  

Representative Pete Stauber is on the ballot in our next election on November 5.  You can say NO to Pete with your vote on November 5.
